WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

SATURDAY

10:00 - Morning Yoga

with Lindsay

Join Lindsay to start the second day of EOTW with some yoga. This yoga flow will be a Hatha and Vinyasa mix. Sun salutations and flows with some longer holding poses and balances.

11:15 - Songwriting Masterclass

with Madeline Roger.

Explore the craft of songwriting as we dive into creative uses of song structure, melody, rhyme patterns, metaphor, point-of-view, and the interplay of vowels and consonants. We will also learn how to uncover our unique artistic voices by using details from our own lives, and transform cliches through the secret power of editing. In this hour-long workshop, we will be playing with our words, imagination, and melody - any experience level welcome, no instrument skills necessary. Bring a pen + paper (we'll have some extra on-hand), and your voice! Madeleine Roger (she/her) is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Winnipeg MB. There is nothing she loves more than discovering an incredible song she's never heard before, and the joy of writing a new one - which continues to feel partially like magic.

12:30 - Making Music

with Mivule

Join Mivule for a workshop where they will share stories behind the songs.  The band will share some of their most meaningful songs, starting with some of their oldest material, some of which they will perform as a trio.  In an interview format, the band will discuss topics such as Brian's upbringing and the effects his refugee experiences has had on his music, how the band has brought reggae and afrobeat tradition into their music, and how some of their songs have evolved and continue to do so.  Come listen, learn, and dance!
